  • The Lead Stakeholder & Advocacy is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage stakeholders and advocate for the company’s strategic objectives, sustainability goals, and business excellence initiatives.
  • Reporting to the General Manager of Strategy, Sustainability, and Business Excellence, this role plays a critical part in enhancing the company’s reputation and fostering positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and government relations.

The ideal candidate will have strong strategic thinking, communication, and advocacy skills.

  • Collaborate with the sustainability team to integrate stakeholder feedback into sustainability initiatives.
  • Promote the company’s sustainability efforts to stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Design and deliver effective communication plans to engage stakeholders.
  • Create and manage content for stakeholder communications, including reports, presentations, and digital media.
  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate potential risks associated with stakeholder relationships.
  • Align stakeholder engagement strategies with the company’s overall strategic objectives, sustainability goals, and business excellence initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the GM for Strategy, Sustainability, and Business Excellence on stakeholder-related opportunities and risk
  • Develop and implement integrated stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Identify and prioritise key stakeholders, including customers, partners, government entities, community groups, and employees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support business objectives and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Develop and execute advocacy strategies to promote the company’s interests and objectives.
  • Represent the company in meetings with stakeholders, including government officials, industry groups, and community organizations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the company and advocate for favorable outcomes.

Professional Qualification and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in stakeholder relations, communications, or a similar role.

Knowledge and skills: 

  • Proven experience in developing and executing stakeholder engagement strategies, including government relations.
  • Strong understanding of corporate strategy, sustainability, and business excellence principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
