Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support & Project Execution

  • Assist the National Lead in rolling out national sprinkler strategies and projects.
  • Take the lead on regional project execution and escalation handling as required.
  • Ensure adherence to design standards, safety practices, and compliance procedures across all projects.

Technical & Regulatory Oversight

  • Perform detailed technical reviews of sprinkler and detection system layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with ASIB standards, SANS 10139, SANS 10287, and fire alarm integration requirements.
  • Coordinate with compliance and quality teams on audits, site inspections, and rectification plans.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Mentor junior technicians, apprentices, and project teams.
  • Coordinate technician scheduling, resource allocation, and material planning.
  • Support internal training efforts and upskilling initiatives.

Client Engagement & Sales Support

  • Join client site meetings to offer technical expertise on system designs and quotations.
  • Work with the sales and design teams to develop accurate, compliant proposals and tender submissions.
  • Resolve mid-tier client escalations in a professional and time-sensitive manner.

Job Specification:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or equivalent in Fire Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certified ASIB Competent Person (or actively working toward certification).
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of detection systems, suppression technology, and panel integration.
  • Project Management training or certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–7 years of hands-on experience in sprinkler and detection systems.
  • Working knowledge of SANS 10139, SANS 10287, ASIB, and SABS requirements.
  • Experience in team coordination, project delivery, and client interface is essential.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong technical capability and practical understanding of fire suppression and detection systems.
  • Ability to interpret design drawings and technical schematics.
  • Confident communicator with clients, installers, and internal teams.
  • Organized, self-driven, and detail-oriented with a solutions-focused approach.
