PURPOSE
- The role ensures that daily tasks across the water sites are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental and operational standards. This includes overseeing shift activities, coordinating teams, and supporting management in maintaining a well-run, compliant operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business /Functional Management
- Execute operational and technical duties in line with organisational directives.
- Support implementation of business initiatives as directed.
Financial, Commercial & Contracts Management
- Work with materials and equipment in a cost-effective manner, following standard operating procedures and practice notes as provided by the line manager.
- Ensure full compliance with material usage requirements while executing duties.
Risk Management & Compliance, incl. ESG responsibility
- Perform all duties in strict compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures and legislation, to meet the company’s obligation.
- Comply with all reporting and information requirements.
Stakeholder Management (internal/ external)
- Maintain professional interactions with stakeholders, from operators to junior management.
- Foster working relationships with support functions on site and at head office to ensure delivery against standards.
- Engage with peers and seniors to ensure project objectives are achieved as instructed.
Operations & Project Management
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling of daily or shift work in line with project goals.
- Ensure operational execution of assigned work through personal task delivery and supervision of team members on shift.
Management Operating System & Reporting
- Ensure all paperwork and posters are displayed in the site office wall and kept up to date.
- Record and submit all reported near misses weekly, following established procedure.
Technical Management
- Adhere to technical standards and work methods for section, in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures and legislation.
SHEQ Management
- Assist management with results capturing and quality assurance processes as required.
Staff Management
- Stay up to date with personal professional development.
- Support management in ensuring operational delivery in assigned areas.
Culture & Climate
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the project.
- Align with client culture requirements as directed by the line manager.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- National Diploma in Water Treatment.
- Higher certificate from Department of Water and Sanitation.
EXPERIENCE
- At least one to two years’ experience working in a mining and Water Treatment.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- General computer skills (incl. Microsoft Computer Skills).
- Conflict Management.
- Strong communication and Interpersonal skills.
- People management skills.
