Job Purpose

  • To support the automation of processes and process re-engineering initiatives to enhance service delivery
  • To provide ad hoc strategic and operational support across business units to unlock operational efficiencies and identify process root cause analyses
  • To support the development of ETL pipelines for the sourcing of data from MS Excel, SQL, CSV, JSON sources into data marts
  • To recon and validate data across various data sources and provide critical feedback on the actions required to sustain data integrity
  • To support the maintenance and development of data mart models
  • To provide business intelligence reports and analyses to business

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining knowledge sharing knowledge with team.
  • Structure data according to compliance standards by adhering to metadata governance procedures according to Nedbank documented standards and formats; and ensuring metadata is continuously up to date.
  • Manage final transformed data content by complying to prescribed standards for reviewing and publishing.
  • Govern the population of data mart and metadata repository by complying to standards; systems; processes and procedures.
  • Align and continuously improve set processes by identifying innovation opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes; systems and policies and support implementation of new processes; policies and systems.
  • Deliver work according to customer expectations by prioritizing; planning and implementing requirements.
  • Ensure work are delivered according to relevant technical standards 
  • Support business units by providing consulting services that delivers data and information relevant to their business
  • Ensure customer needs are met through regular customer feedback sessions
  • Manage vendor relationship interactions by conforming to vendor management office guidelines and principles.

  • Identify and mitigate risk by executing within governance.
  • Resolve incidents by logging and tracking through correct channels

  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal and external information sharing sessions by attending formal and informal meetings.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).

Experience Level

Minimum

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience is in a data management / business role
  • Data reconciliation and validation
  • Developed and implemented data driven reports
  • Transformation and normalisation of source datasets for analytical insights
  • Manage internal process and process re-engineering
  • Track record of using technology to optimise your work environment

Preferred

  • You have improved processes and culture where you have worked
  • You have built and maintained stakeholder relationships
  • You have managed ETL pipelines and enabled data quality and validation
  • You have supported the transformation, change and continued improvement of the tools and processes used

Essential Qualifications – NQF Level

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Qualification Details

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Provide a proven track record of managing big datasets in MS SQL Server using a proven framework (no less than 5 years’ work experience) or associated certifications in data management (MS SQL Server / Python / Azure or similar)
  • Bachelors Degree in IT, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, etc.

Qualification (Preferred)

  • Post-graduate degree in IT, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, etc.

Essential Certifications

  • Certification relevant to data analytics, SQL, database management, Python, Git, etc.
