Role Purpose / Misson:

  • Act as the Media Lead for SSA (South Africa and West Africa, Algeria)
  • Provide guidance to other Marketing teams in AMEA  with no local media expertise 
  • SPOC for AMEA  media coordination – 8 markets on roll-out of global brands media strategies, sufficiency analysis, media reporting (planning data and campaign perf.)

About you
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • SSA (South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana) + Algeria

Strategy

  • Develop yearly media plans, leading online and offline decision-making 
  • Co-define and implement paid media excellence (goals > KPIs > optimisation)
  • Media  strategy ownership (Both online and offline)
  • Drive Media thought leadership and governance
  • Localization/implementation of paid media excellence & target setting

Execution

  • Adapt and optimize budget spent  across  media touchpoints
  • Implement  media plans (tactical plans builts up -> execution) and share paid media learnings with local stakeholders (SEO teams, brand teams, etc.)
  • Tech & tools: ownership (roll out & sustain)
  • SEA (search engines + social social search + retail search (where applicable)): Global Guidelines champion, ecom & brand teams sparring partner 

AMEA

  • Provide guidance on all media plans (challenge and builds)
  • Act as the expert to guide teams where relevant
  • Act as lead to develop talent and knowledge on all things Media
  • Champion the deployment and governance  of the IBC Planning process in the zone (Media).

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Lead annual TV negotiations (SSA)
  • Competitive Media plans for SSA (ensuring KPI delivery)
  • Implement successful media WOW for EDP AMEA (Internal and External)
  • Regular governance and tracking of all media related activities in the Zone.

MAIN INTERACTION

Internal

  • Zone: CGO, marketing head, S&I head, topline finance
  • CBUs: Marketing, S&I, Media , Digital,. Ecom, Sales
  • Global team: IBC and Media Teams

External

  • Creative agencies
  • Media Partners

KEY METRICS:

  • 100% compliance with global media guidelines (the fundamentals), and that, across all markets
  • Deployment and enforcement of proper IBC Planning everywhere, (media)
  • Some measure of efficiency: value / impact (not cost only, that’s a race top the bottom), exact metric tbc – maybe Sebastien can help here

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Broad Media and/or Digital expertise, on the client or agency side . 10 yrs +
  • Fully skilled on building and implementing media strategies
  • Ability to confidently interact across senior levels
  • Ability to extract maximum value from external partners and our global teams
  • Experience in working in complex matrix structures. (Global/Regional/Local Dynamic)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelors Degree
  • Experience (~10+ years):
