Senior Solar Electrician / Solar Operations Manager Job at Farm Managers SA

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification
• Relevant solar/PV qualifications and certifications
• Proven experience with solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and electrical installations
• Strong knowledge of solar system installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding
• Experience managing solar installation projects and technical teams
• Strong staff supervision and leadership skills
• Good administrative and organisational ability
• Computer literate
• Strong client communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Must be willing to work hands-on and travel to project sites when required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee solar PV and electrical installations
• Plan and coordinate projects, staff, equipment, and materials
• Supervise electricians, technicians, and installation teams
• Ensure installations are completed safely, correctly, and within required timelines
• Commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar systems
• Diagnose faults relating to inverters, batteries, panels, electrical components, and system performance
• Manage daily operational and administrative requirements
• Coordinate purchasing, stock, materials, and equipment required for projects
• Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and contractors
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and job records
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical, health and safety, and industry standards
• Train and develop junior technical staff
• Take responsibility for the quality and performance of completed installations
