Manager Product – Front-End Job at Betway Africa

What you’ll do

You’ll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:

• Own and manage the end-to-end delivery of product initiatives across web and mobile platforms.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear deliverables in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
• Ensure alignment between backend capabilities and front-end execution, enabling seamless user experiences.
• Drive high-quality implementation, ensuring consistency, usability, and scalability across products.
• Act as the primary bridge between Product, Engineering, and Design teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
• Collaborate closely with backend teams to ensure front-end feasibility and optimal integration of services.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage expectations, and ensure delivery aligns to objectives.
• Oversee the integration of UX and UI design into front-end builds, ensuring design intent is accurately implemented.
• Ensure user journeys, interaction patterns, and visual components are cohesive and aligned to design standards.
• Partner with UX and UI leads to continuously improve customer experience and engagement.
• Monitor front-end performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve usability and conversion.
• Support experimentation and optimisation initiatives
• Ensure front-end solutions are responsive, accessible, and aligned with best practices.
• Establish and maintain front-end development standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
• Ensure adherence to design systems, technical frameworks, and architectural guidelines.
• Drive consistency and reuse of components and patterns across products.
• Lead and manage the front-end product team, providing clear direction, prioritisation, and support to enable effective delivery.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop team members, supporting capability growth and career progression.

What you’ll bring

• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, architectures, and best practices
• Solid grasp of UX/UI principles and how they translate into front-end delivery
• Ability to bridge technical and business requirements effectively
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in agile environments
• Analytical mindset with focus on performance and optimisation

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

• It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
• Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven design decisions.
• Good knowledge in online web application development, including front-end HTML5
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Product Design, or a related field
• 5–8 years’ experience in digital product, front-end delivery, or related roles
• Proven experience managing or leading cross-functional teams
• Experience working in agile product environments
• Exposure to both design (UX/UI) and engineering delivery strongly preferred
