What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee and review bank reconciliations prepared by the bookkeeping team.
- Ensure all general ledger transactions are valid, accurate, and complete.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packs and balance sheet reconciliations for review.
- Draft statutory financial statements and support internal and external audits.
- Assist Group Tax with accurate and timely VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory returns.
Financial Operations
- Prepare journals and monthly reconciliations with major pay-in/pay-out partners.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regional regulations.
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve commercial and financial issues.
Business & Process Improvement
- Contribute to finance improvement initiatives, new system implementations, and month-end efficiencies.
- Support workstreams for new market expansion and business maturity.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and drive automation.
What You Need to Succeed
Qualifications
- CA (SA) — essential
- 0–2 years post-articles experience (financial services exposure desirable)
Experience & Knowledge
- Exposure to multinational group structures, ideally across Africa or the UK.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- VAT and corporate tax preparation experience (in collaboration with Tax teams).
- Experience in regulated financial services or fast-growth environments (advantageous).
Technical Competencies
- Advanced MS Office (Excel required).
- Strong time-management, analytical thinking, and organisational skills.
- Excellent understanding of financial reporting best practices.
