About the role

  • To be responsible for the tactical, operational, day to day management of the website marketing function, ensuring alignment with broader departmental goals and business objectives; planning, team leadership and quality assurance, while overseeing the delivery and direction, governance, and performance of Capitec’s Group websites.
  • To interpret the department business plan and drive website marketing innovation, operational excellence and alignment with Capitec’s brand and digital engagement strategy.

Function/ role specific

  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to shape and contribute to the department’s strategic direction, functional plans, budgets, and performance goals.
  • Responsible for operationalizing and implementing the business plans through a departmental operating model and managing the planning, execution and delivery thereof.
  • Oversee the planning and end-to-end execution of website operations; content strategy, CMS optimization (Optimizely), metadata, schema, and integrations, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives, timelines, and resource availability and optimise the allocation of resources, including budget management; track budget spend and flag variances or optimisation opportunities, ensure adherence to financial processes and approval workflows and support the preparation of strategy, budget reports and assist with financial reviews.
  • Make optimisation and improvement recommendations and collaborate with other functions to leverage opportunities (inc. technology, systems and data) to enhance and optimise delivery.
  • Responsible for  accuracy, consistency and brand alignment across all digital properties, including Google My Business and SEO. Lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of website-related projects.
  • Responsible for implementation of effective channels to ensure team communication and understanding of departmental processes, standards and quality assurance and achievement of targets/SLA’s
  • Accountable for management of the team; capacity, headcount management, recruitment, development, talent reviews, succession, goal planning and performance management.
  • Manage the evolution of Capitec’s online presence, ensuring it reflects world-class standards in SEO, usability, accessibility, and service design.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of digital product features and services informed by customer insights and market trends.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 7+yrs  experience in a digital environment, with at least 3 years experience of leading or managing people and preferably within a corporate or agency environment, including:
  • Proven experience in leading creative teams and managing complex website projects.
  • Website development, maintenance and communications

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • A relevant degree in Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or Project Management

Qualifications (Advantageous)

  • Ideally: A postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Leadership, or Strategic Communications is advantageous, and/or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile)
