Environmental Engineering Superintendent needed at Hire Resolve

Description:

• Hire Resolve’s Client is currently looking for an experienced Environmental Engineering Superintendent to join their mining company based in the Free State. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and maintaining effective ventilation and occupational hygiene systems to support a safe and healthy working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and internal policies.
• Monitor, measure, and report on ventilation and occupational hygiene performance.
• Conduct risk assessments, surveys, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
• Support the implementation and improvement of emergency preparedness and fire prevention programmes.
• Maintain and update statutory ventilation and emergency plans.
• Provide technical guidance on ventilation, refrigeration, and occupational hygiene matters.
• Analyse data, identify trends, and recommend corrective or preventative actions.
• Prepare and submit required reports within set timelines (daily, weekly, monthly, or annually).
• Assist with developing and maintaining systems, procedures, and best practices for ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree/Diploma in Occupation Hygiene or Equivalent
• Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control and SAIOH registration as Occupational Hygienist 
• 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position
• Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating management systems and databases.
• Valid Driver’s License
