Early Learning/Junior Prep Art and Dance Teacher needed at Inspired Education

ROLE SUMMARY:

• The Art and Dance Teacher will foster creativity, confidence, and expressive skills in young learners across the Early Learning School and Junior Prep phases. The successful candidate will create a nurturing classroom environment, deliver engaging lessons, and support each child’s artistic and developmental journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and deliver creative, engaging Art and Dance lessons.
• Establish a warm, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, work standards and student expectations.
• Reflect on teaching practice and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Produce high-quality learning materials and resources.
• Maintain effective communication with parents, responding within 24 hours.
• Teach extra lessons when required on two afternoons per week.
• Attend school events and special occasions as directed.
• Set and mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Write high-quality report comments.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A university degree in a relevant subject and certified teaching status.
• At least 3 years’ experience teaching in an Early Learning School.
• Confidence integrating ICT into teaching practice.
• Passion for Art and Dance education and experience working with very young learners.
• Strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• A positive, adaptable approach and excellent classroom practice.
• Genuine care for student wellbeing and development.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and a Teaching Assistant.
• Right to work in South Africa.
