Job Description 

  • CBE Is looking to employ a Project Lifecycle Planner who will report to the Supply Chain Director. The Lifecycle Planner will be working closely with the Project Development, Implementation and Finance teams to manage the cost controlling function for projects within CrossBoundary Energy.

What you will do
Your primary responsibilities would be: 
Project Cost Controlling:

  • Responsible for cost controlling of all projects from inception through to Implementation 
  • Review and analysis of actuals v budgeted costs 
  • Forecasting & Variance analysis of projects in Early Works Procurement (EWP) to Implementation 
  • Capture and maintenance of materials/lists on Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations 
  • Liaise with project manager (s) and contract managers to forecast expected future costs to completion 
  • Manage the process of contractual revenue/variation order claims 
  • Review and manage the weekly project related expenses 

Budgeting Process:

  • Support the preparation of project cost budgets for project related early bid submissions  
  • Formulate a detailed budgeting template that incorporates all functions of PV, BESS, Thermal and Wind construction to assist in project bid submissions. 
  • Develop a trend analysis of projects various sizes for future projects 
  • Support Asset Management Commercial team forecasting budgets prior to start of DLP phase of all projects and future O&M forecasted spend. 

Reporting:

  • Ensure timely project reporting in terms of all Early Stage projects and projects in Implementation phase
  • Ensure Management team is always aware about current cost status of project and possible future deviations 
  • Together with the data operations team, continually update Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations with accurate product and construction related costs. 

Statutory/regulatory requirement:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory / regulatory requirements, including: 
  • Country specific Reserve Bank approvals; 
  • Bond Resource planning (Bank Guarantees, Parent Company Guarantees) 

Other ad-hoc tasks:

  • Implementation of internal control and processes 

Who You Are 

  • You are a self-starter who is passionate about creating lasting change within emerging markets.
  • B.Com Accounting / Finance degree qualification  
  • At least 3 –5 years’ experience in a similar role; or audit background having completed articles will be advantageous 
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector or other assimilated sector (i.e., construction or engineering) preferable 
  • Experience in reporting under IFRS  
  • Advanced skills for Excel and MS Office  
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations will be advantageous 
  • Good communication skills  
  • Ability to work in a team, self-organised and disciplined  
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail; good project management and organization skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
