Driver Operator: Jet Trucks – WASA19196 needed at City of Ekurhuleni

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10 or Equivalent
• Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PrDP
• Applicable Operator Training
• 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Physically fit to perform manual labour (be added as a minimum requirement)

Core Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery and/or trucks safely
• Safely transport staff, plant or equipment to the site
• Safely operate jet truck water vehicles, skid steer loaders, bobcats and other related civil heavy plant machinery
• Plan, organise and ensure that work allocated to the team is carried out effectively and adhere to set standards
• Ensure that resources allocated are used effectively and efficiently.
• Set out necessary work signs as per the appropriate Traffic Control Plan on site to ensure safety and staff and equipment
• Ensure compliance to governance and legislative requirements, OHS Act and related regulations, by-laws, regulations, policies and procedures
• Adhere to specific standards, policies and SOP’s to prevent and reduce wastage on financial resources and escalate associated risk
• Responsible for receiving, coordinating and interpreting job cards, maps and work instructions
• Open and enter manholes, lift hoses and other heavy working equipment and tools
