Core Description
- The Facilities Administrator is responsible for developing and delivering data-driven solutions that meet business and user requirements. The role involves maintaining data sources, generating accurate reports, and producing actionable insights to support decision-making within the operational environment.
- By ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and accessibility of data, the Administrator plays a critical role in strengthening analytical capabilities, improving operational efficiency, and enabling data-led business decisions.
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
Access Control & Verification
- Administer, document, and verify all data centre access requests for the KZN (Umhlanga) Data Centre.
- Maintain accurate and updated logs of all third-party personnel entering the facility.
- Enforce Data Centre security protocols, always ensuring full compliance.
- Provide meaningful insights that support the broader Data Insights and Process Automation strategy
Operational & Environmental Health Checks
- Conduct and document daily facilities and environmental health checks within the Data Centre.
- Identify, report, and escalate any irregularities or risks observed during routine inspections.
- Conducting data extractions, resolving data-related queries,
- Designing and building dashboards and contributing to the automation of monitoring processes and reporting activities.
Compliance & Safety Management
- Support ongoing compliance with internal and external safety and security standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- NQF 4: Grade 12 National Diploma
Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage
Experience
- 2 Years’ experience of process and procedures within a secure Data Centre and facility environments, understand technical, mechanical and electrical facilities concepts, Understand security protocols.
Certifications
Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry
Level of Engagement & Span of Control
- Level of Engagement – Engagement will work closely with multiple operational teams to enhance reporting capabilities
