ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide high-quality legal administration and document-preparation support across the business, working closely with our CEO/Founder on confidential, time-sensitive, and high-priority tasks.
  • This role requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to operate in a fast-moving, startup-style environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage calendars, scheduling, and coordination for the legal team and the CEO/Founder.
  • Prepare, type, revise, and format legal documents with meticulous accuracy.
  • Maintain organised filing systems, data rooms, and version control across multiple entities.
  • Coordinate contract execution (signatures, stamping, scanning, delivery).
  • Prepare board packs, agendas, and clear, accurate minutes.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and external counsel for information and follow-ups.
  • Manage legal correspondence: letters, notices, email drafting, and template management.
  • Track contract statuses, renewals, and administrative obligations.
  • Support legal logistics (hearings, consultations, compliance processes).
  • Assist with invoicing, vendor management, and general legal office tasks.
  • Handle ad-hoc, high-priority requests directly from the CEO/Founder.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal PA, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail in typing, formatting, and document preparation.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with a CEO/Founder and supporting urgent, time-critical work.

Preferred

  • Previous experience supporting a CEO/Founder or senior leadership team.
  • Exposure to startup, tech, or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of SA legal terminology and legal admin processes.
  • Experience in preparing board packs or handling corporate governance tasks.
  • Additional training in business administration or paralegal studies.
