General Assistant: Cemetries (Piketberg) needed at Bergrivier Municipality

• Qualifications: Basic Literacy
• Experience: One (1) years’ relevant experience required.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in at least two (2) of the official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans / English / Xhosa- Read, Write and Speak ∙ Ability to perform basic calculations ∙ High level of responsibility ∙ Must be prepared to enter confined spaces such as manholes, inlets, pipes and culverts ∙ Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime ∙ Must perform duties in the whole area of the Municipality when required

Job Purpose:

• Perform pre- and post burial labouring activities, maintains the cleanliness of the cemetery grounds and facilities, applying laid down instructions and guidelines to ensure an acceptable level of standards are maintained

Key Performance Areas:

• Attends the preparations of the burial sites and perform general maintenance/housekeeping activities ∙
• Maintains the cleanliness of the cemetery and facilities 
• Attends to the storage and care of cleaning tools/equipment 
• Responsible for the Health and Safety compliance with statutory and procedures in order to minimise any accidents, an injuries and to maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all 
• Responsible to take part in the Municipality’s Performance Management and Development System
