Minimum Qualification / Experience / Skills:
- Mining Government Certified Competency (not negotiable)
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Degree or Diploma
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- A minimum of five years’ management experience within a mining environment.
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance planning and cost centre control.
- Sound multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge and experience associated with electrical, electronic, mechanical, and structural infrastructure and systems.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and engineering principles in heavy machinery industry.
- Good knowledge and experience of overall plant processes and operational systems.
- Technical knowledge required for in-depth Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Diagnosing, analyzing, and reporting skills.
- Process, plant and equipment optimization.
- Ability to work independently within set targets.
- People management and communication skills.
- Registered with DMRP as a mentor (advantageous)
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):
- Manage programs that monitor all equipment’s operational and conditional status.
- Create trends and compile trend data for component level conditions.
- Oil analysis monitoring – coordinate approach to oil analysis, trends, create database of lubricants in use vs recommended.
- Implement maintenance projects to improve plant reliability of processing plant and mobile equipment
- Legal appointment as Competent Engineer for Jenkins Mine
- Ensure compliance by conducting oversight inspections on the following areas: Lifting equipment and machinery. Workshop Stores with hazardous chemicals and oil storage areas. Diesel Installations and dispensing facilities. Electrical Installations: MCC’s,
- Transformers. Structural Integrity: Design, Installation, Repair, Removal and
- Replacement. On Site Traffic Management Systems.
