What you’ll do:
- Relationship building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision makers, stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers including EPC contractors and Engineering houses.
- Business Growth: Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures
- Collaborate with the wider sales team to help develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration
- Cadence: Manage your sales pipelines, track key metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential growth areas within the African Mining sector.
- Analyze competitive landscapes and emerging market shifts to identify strategic opportunities for Aggreko in the sector
- Participate in market sizing, forecasting and budget preparation and work closely with Marketing Team in the context of sector-specific campaigns
- Develop and refine the business development strategy for the assigned area, in line with short-term and long-term growth goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional matrix teams to align business development strategies with Bid Managers, Engineering, Pricing, Legal and other specialists, and following agreed approval protocols, build and present “Value Propositions”
- Oversee the development of comprehensive business proposals and presentations for potential clients and partners.
- Build a robust sales pipeline and forecast that will yield future profitable revenue/ EBITDA streams.
- Deliver all required reports, forecasts, and CRM updates in a timely manner.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen eye for identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
- Have grit, drive coupled with high energy levels to daily focus a diverse team to convert short to long term opportunities into quality contracts.
- Proven track record of successfully closing high-value deals and driving revenue growth.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, prioritize and make informed strategic decisions.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive network within the mining sector and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong understanding and competence of the technical, commercial and contractual elements of a long-term mine power contract.
- Must be able to function as an individual, a team player, virtual team member coupled with sound leadership experience, with the ability to engage and motivate support teams effectively.
- Willingness to travel as needed on a regular basis in the assigned region.

- Technical Acumen: sales expertise, know how to work a sales pipeline, manage, and forecast sales that will lead to revenue growth and build relationships with clients; intellectual capability required to understand and articulate how Aggreko’s products and services match customer applications.
- Communication & Interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to build strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and other stakeholders; able to collaborate well internally.
- Data & Analytical skills: able to analyze sales data and using it to make informed decisions that can improve sales performance; analyze key performance indicators and conducting market research are essential to the job.
- Customer Intimacy: ability to develop strong relationships with customers and be recognized as credible and trusted advisor.
- Language proficiency: English & French.
- Education: Degree (Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) Engineering)
- Years of experience: Minimum 8 in providing complex solutions.
- Reporting line: Sector Sales Manager of Mining in Africa.
