Key Accountabilities and Outputs:

  • Maintenance Activities: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and building services to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services). Manage building renovation and improvement projects, coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and construction teams.
  • Team Supervision: Directing a team of technicians and maintenance personnel, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed according to schedule and standards
  • Monitoring Equipment Performance: Regularly inspecting mechanical equipment and building systems to identify potential issues or areas needing maintenance and taking proactive measures to address them to ensure reliability and minimize downtime. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring that all mechanical systems and building services comply with relevant safety regulations and standards, implementing safety protocols, and conducting safety inspections. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Optimizing Efficiency: Implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime, such as implementing preventive maintenance programs, optimizing energy usage, and recommending equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.

Requirements

  • At least 8-10 years previous experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, machine design, spare part fabrication and building services in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the textile industry.
  • Must have strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, and other building services.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Must have supervisory skills to manage a team of technicians and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Must have problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure to address mechanical issues promptly.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for maintenance management and documentation.
