Radio Repair Technician Job at Fidelity Services Group

Description:

• We require a Coastal Radio Repair Technician to analyze, fault find and do basic repairs to VHF and GSM radios.

Duties:

• Testing of current and active radios that can be recycled back into the Warehouse for installations
• IOT, Finmon, HYYP, FSK
• Assist with technical queries
• Signal strength queries
• LSN queries
• Signals received
• Delays
• Radios loaded incorrectly
• Base reporting (LSN and backends)
• Assist with Ajax linkup when needed
• Collect faulty radios from the Warehouse
• Sort out stock returned from technicians
• Stock to be scrapped by Kenny
• Stock to be returned to suppliers
• Stock that need to be tested and/or upgraded to be returned for installation
• Label, scan and box all radios tested to be returned to the Warehouse.
• Submit weekly report of radio counts
• Radios tested and returned to the Warehouse
• Radios scrapped
• Radios returned to suppliers
• Request bin report for 5249-0012 to monitor bin movements
• Scrap all metal VHF, RDC and FSK radios that are not 4G/LTE
• Scrap all alarm panels, keypads, passives, transformers and door contacts that cannot be refurbished or reused
• Count 2G FSK (GPRS and VHF), 2G Finmon (single- and dual sim). RDC GPRS (white cover with stub antenna) and VHF (grey plastic cover with long whip antenna) radios to be sent back to supplier
• Assist with testing signals on tracking units for Special Projects

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Post Matric qualification or equivalent
• Previous radio repair experience in security industry essential
• Computer Literate (MS Office, advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
• Professional and well presented at all times
• Ability to work under pressure and for extended hours, if required
• Must be prepared to travel
