Description of the role and purpose of the job:
- The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, was created as an innovative financing mechanism that seeks to rapidly raise and disburse funding for programs that reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and malaria in low- and middle-income countries.
- KPMG South Africa is contracted as a Local Fund Agent to provide the Global Fund with independent assessment and verification services through risk-based approaches and methods. With no in-country presence, the Global Fund relies on Local Fund Agents like KPMG to oversee, validate and report on the effective management of funds for programs to fight the three infectious diseases.
- We are looking for a dynamic and passionate CA (SA) with an affinity for financial analysis and reporting to assist us in ensuring we continue to provide exceptional oversight and advisory related services to the Global Fund. Key responsibilities:
- The key role of this individual would be supporting the Team Lead and the Team to provide good quality deliverables to the client. This will include the review and analysis of accounting transactions, budgets, internal controls, financial processes and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement. It will also include assisting with some elements of project management.
- The candidate will report to the Team Lead of the project but will also have the opportunity to interact with our diverse and multidisciplinary team.
- The successful candidate will gain exposure to all aspects and phases of the donor funded project lifecycle (from the awarding of funds through to grant closure).

Minimum requirements to apply for the role (including qualifications and experience):
- Finance related bachelor’s degree (BCom Mathematics / Accounting / Finance / Economics);
- Must have an internationally recognized professional finance or accounting qualification (CA (SA) or CIMA)
- 0-3 years post articles experience
- Fluent in English.
