Minimum Required Qualification:
- Tracklayer Certificate or Platter/Boilermaker Trade Certificate or Blasting Certificate.
- Grade 12 or relevant NQF 4.
The Appointee should:
- Valid driver`s license.
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of rail networks.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Experience as a Platelayer/Boilermaker or Miner within a mining environment would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration Completion of relevant documentation. Adherence to document control standards and procedures. Provisioning of data and information. Safekeeping of documentation. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintenance, Installations and Construction Adhere to equipment, maintenance, installation and construction of surface rail networks. All maintenance, installations and constructions to be inspected and checked according to Transnet Specifications and SANS 3000 Safe, correct and effective application of equipment and machinery utilised during duties. Adherence to maintenance schedules. Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation and constructions. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Relations Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally. Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers. Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable. Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
- Financial Management Cost Savings: Adhering to cost saving and cash conservation initiatives. Remaining competitive on the global cost curve for surface operations.
- Building a values-based organisational culture Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
- ESG Compliance Align to international responsible mining principles. SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs). SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. US PGM Operations: Enhance together for ICCM principles.
- SHE Compliance Adherence to safe work procedures. Compliance to company standards and regulations i.e. PPE. Reporting of all incidents and / or near incidents. Participation on SHEC related campaigns and initiatives. Conduct induction for team members related to SHEC aspects prior to commencing work. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Focus on safe production & operational excellence Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence Improve our position on global industry cost curve
- People Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members. Nominate team members for developmental training. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained for assigned work. Manage team morale. Allocation of tasks and assignments. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
