Purpose of the position:
- Implementation and recording of Adolescent and Young People’s Program (AYP) to ensure full integration of HIV care and treatment cascades including Women’s Health, SRH, HTS, STI, TB Screening and facilitating successful referrals as needed to ensure holistic care.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing (General, Community, Midwifery and Psychiatry)
- SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health) and NIMART certificate
- Dispensing certificate and licence
- Minimum of 2 years community nursing experience working with AGYW/AYP and/or KP
- Excellent knowledge of HIV, TB, SRH and STI, prevention approaches and NDOH screening guidelines
- An understanding of the challenges facing Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Young Women who are Key Populations (YWKP) in the health context
- An in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and procedures
- Ability to work non-traditional/flexible hours.
- Ability to travel as and when required
- MS Office proficiency

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the comprehensive, integrated cascade of care
- Consult and provide preventative and curative treatment/health care
- Analysing symptoms and conducting specific examinations and/or conducting tests and physical assessments.
- Making a Nursing diagnosis according to Policy, Protocol and Guidelines
- Prescribing/administering the necessary medication/drugs in required dosages in line with Policy guidelines
- Implementing and integrating policy and programmes relating to PHC – Women’s Health, SRH, HTS, STI, TB Screening
- Documenting referrals and linkage to care to ensure continuity of care
- Consulting, referring and linkage to care of all HIV positive clients with opportunistic infections according to policy, protocol and guidelines
- Index testing of AGYW/YWKP partners
- Attending and referring all trauma, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Post Violence Care (PVC) and PEP clients to the Thuthuzela Centres or nearest health facilities, and medical emergencies according to Protocol, Policies and Guidelines
- Inform the social worker and Human Rights team on all the GBV, PVC cases
- Previously lost to follow up HIV positive clients to be linked to care in line with the NDoH strategy to find the missing 1.1 million PLWHIV
- Attending to referrals and linkage to care clients from Health and Wellness Counsellors (HWC) and Linkage Officers (LO)
- Maintaining accurate reports and records of procedures performed
- Keeping accurate, up-to-date records of medical supplies, equipment and drugs in own area of operation.
- Responsible for asset management and monitoring effective use of health equipment
- Managing Drug supply and HIV RDTs in line with GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice)
- Responsible for quality assurance of HTS, compliance to clinical and dispensing standards and reporting as required
- Oversight and supervision of HWC during Quality Assurance activities such as Independent Quality Control (IQC) and Proficiency Testing Survey (PT)
- Data entry, collection & capacity to use data collection tools
