Role Overview

• The Senior Finance Manager plays a critical leadership role within the Payment24 Group Operational Finance function. This position works on entity-level accounting and financial management across the Payment24 Group with Head of Finance, with accountability for financial reporting, audit readiness, taxation, treasury, AR/AP, payroll oversight, procurement, and finance system ownership.
• The role also carries responsibility for group-wide financial matters including cash flow and treasury management, banking profiles, group receivables, supplier master data, and financial governance.
• This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to operate confidently at executive and board level.

Key Responsibilities – Financial Operations & Reporting

• Own and manage the end-to-end monthly financial close and reporting process
• Review management accounts with detailed analytical commentary
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Resolve complex and technical IFRS accounting matters
• Review payroll processing and monthly reconciliations
• Work side by side with Head of Finance

Audit

• Ensure internal and external audit processes
• Ensure ongoing audit readiness across all entities

Taxation

• Calculate and review income tax in line with local legislation
• Oversee submission of statutory tax returns
• Review indirect tax and payroll tax calculations and filings

Treasury & Banking

• Group cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimisation
• Manage corporate banking relationships, profiles, and access controls

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Design and enforce global AR/AP policies, controls, and approval frameworks
• Drive automation and efficiency across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles
• Maintain group levels-of-authority and supplier master data
• Ensure timely creditor payments and accurate beneficiary management
• Lead group-wide receivables collection and credit control
• Perform customer risk assessments and bad debt provisioning
• Resolve disputes and manage escalations with internal and external stakeholders
• Deliver monthly AR/AP reporting, ageing analyses, and KPIs to senior leadership

Statutory, Compliance & Risk

• Manage all statutory reporting obligations across entities
• Design and maintain internal control frameworks for finance operations
• Ensure compliance with evolving financial regulations and tax laws
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained across the Group

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
• Partner with executives, board members, banks, auditors, and regulators
• Provide clear financial insights to support decision-making and growth

Strategy & Revenue

• Contribute to long-term financial strategy and planning
• Identify financial risks and mitigation strategies
• Review monthly customer invoicing and revenue accrual accounting

Systems

• Act as Group finance system administrator where required
• Own finance system governance and controls

Requirements Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or Finance
• CA(SA) – mandatory

Experience

• Minimum 7+ years post-articles in a senior or operational finance management role
• Experience within a multinational or large corporate environment
