How you will contribute

You will: 

  • Leads the development of the trade marketing part of the category annual plans (contract process)
  • Understands market dynamics / consumer insights by channel to participate on trade marketing strategic decisions
  • Leads the business planning meeting where the sales quotas are built in order to accomplish the annual plans based on relevant building blocks
  • Suggests and influences investment in category building blocks, according to category and channel need, and is accountable of execution excellence at point of sale
  • Follows up the competition’s commercial activity in the category in order to detect business opportunities and potential threats for the brand
  • Plays a leadership role within the multi categories teams by leading, providing accurate and relevant channel point of sale information that will lead to find business opportunities such as innovations, customer promotions, portfolio, pricing, etc. that will lead to achieve multi categories targets

More about this role

  • This role will oversee management of RGM across all categories and channels in RSA, optimizing the 5 RGM levers.

What you need to know about this position:

  • Reporting to the RGM Lead for RSA, this role plays a critical part in creating and delivering the RGM strategy across all categories in South Africa. The Revenue Growth Manager is responsible for analysis that identifies growth opportunities across the five RGM pillars and bringing these to life with strong cross collaboration and measuring delivery through governance.
  • Success in this role requires a strong foundation in data analysis across multiple systems, an ability to derive and translate insights into actions, and an ability to work cross functionally.

  • Practical experience to deliver initiatives that optimize the P&L.
  • An ability to build rapport across functions and levels.

Education / Certifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Commerce or a relevant commercial field is required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG commercial planning, category development, shopper marketing or sales operations.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, in particular P&L statement and drivers

Job specific requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of RGM

  • Minimal local travel

Work schedule:

  • Hybrid work schedule – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote work
