Agronomy Area Manager – Seed needed at Mayfly Agri Ltd

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have an Honours/Master’s degree in Agronomy Soil Science Plant Production
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant Agronomy experience
• Knowledge of compilation of fertilizer programs is essential
• Knowledge and experience of onions is advantageous
• Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans, with good interpersonal and communication skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing and coordinating varietal screening trials in multiple crops, including but not exclusively onions.
• Handling complaints and supplying support and feedback to the Sales team in this regard.
• Providing weekly feedback to the Managing Director.
• Coordinating and providing product training.
• Presenting and assisting at farmers’ days and agricultural expos.
• Interpreting data from various trials.
• Writing articles for newsletters, magazines, and marketing materials.
• Visiting farmers with the Production Advisors.
• Managing and evaluating commercial trials.
• Offering technical support to Production Advisors, Area Managers, and Farmers.
