Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this position:

Monitor and control server hardware and software

  • Determine server needs by function 
  • Propose hardware specifications
  • Set up and test server
  • Implement on live network
  • Monitor and maintain server 
  • Monitor server resources
  • Patch management

Manage problems

  • Monitor release management regarding changes
  • Provide final line of support in respect of problem management on servers and for technical team
  • Report to management on incidents & problems
  • Escalate unresolved problems to vendors
  • Assist vendors with the resolution

Provide reports

  • Submit management reports on a monthly basis
  • Submit back-up reports daily and monthly
  • Submit replication and test failover reports monthly

Provide 3rd line support for users 

  • Troubleshooting
  • Repairs & maintenance of hardware & peripherals

Maintain Active Directory

  • Create new user profiles and distribution groups
  • Update existing user profiles and edit distribution groups
  • Maintain group policy for the domain
  • Maintain Active Directory site and services
  • Maintain DNS
  • Maintain DHCP

Perform Back-ups

  • Validate if back-ups were successful on a daily basis
  • Maintain back-ups systems
  • Capacity Planning
  • Back-up scheduling

Research and Testing

  • Keep abreast with changes and updates of new technology
  • Test new technology in a test environment

Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Manage Azure and AWS Services: Deploy and manage Azure and AWS resources, ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Cloud Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions to track the performance and availability of cloud services.
  • Cloud Security: Ensure the security of cloud resources by implementing appropriate access controls and security measures.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for cloud environments.

Requirements
Knowledge and Skills

  • Formal Education
  • National Diploma in Information Technology

Technical/Legal Certification

  • VMWare Vsphere 8
  • ITIL V3 Foundation
  • MCSE 2016
  • Exchange 2019
  • Sharepoint 2019
  • Office 365
  • Azure 
  • AWS

Experience

  • 6 years’ experience in an IT environment
  • 5 years’ experience as a server administrator
  • Driver’s license and own reliable transport essential
