Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage each project’s scope and timeline and facilitate scoping and estimation by teams.
  • Actively structure and drive product increment (PI) planning for your squads.
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, daily stand-ups, and other Scrum ceremonies.
  • Take ownership of the development work pipeline to ensure predictable delivery. 
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain sustainable team velocity.
  • Helping the squad focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks and guide development teams to higher scrum maturity.
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
  • Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders).
  • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles or impediments that occur.
  • Help teams implement changes and ad hoc requests effectively.
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it.
  • Building psychological safety as well as accountability within your teams.
  • General management of schedule, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation, including cross-team, cross-project, and customer delivery dependencies.
  • Provide status reporting, develop key metrics, identify, and mitigate risks, manage stakeholder expectations around delivery timelines.    

In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:

  • Matric
  • Scrum Certified.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 2-5 years previous experience working in a software organisation using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Proven exposure to software development environments and typical SDLC and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
  • Excellent communication and servant leadership skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
