REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Engineering degree (B Eng/BSc (Eng)) in Civil Engineering.
  • Three (3) years relevant post-qualification experience in Civil and Water Engineering.
  • Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
  • Disclosure of a valid unexpired driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of water resources systems operations, environmental management, and water resources/supply assessment.
  • Expertise in analyzing water requirements, water system analysis, and water quality assessment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering economics, water resources, and supply planning.
  • Understanding of supply chain management and contractual/legal requirements.
  • Knowledge of business planning, programme and project management, change management, and knowledge management.
  • Service delivery innovation (SDI), problem-solving and analysis, people management, client orientation, and customer focus.
  • Accountability and ethical conduct.

DUTIES:

  • Provide engineering, project management, and business process re-engineering services for the Municipal Infrastructure Grant Programme (MIGP), which includes site visits, technical report evaluations, recommendations, and project monitoring.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the Water Services Infrastructure Grant (WSIG).
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of the Regional Bulk Infrastructure Programme (RBIG) and any other funding sources earmarked for water services in the Northwest.
  • Coordinate Free Basic Services (FBS) and provide support for the Comprehensive Infrastructure Plan (CIP) and Water Conservation and Water Demand Management.
  • Support the Integrated Development and Water Services Development Planning (IDP/WSDP) processes in the Northwest.
  • Provide support for the Municipal Priority Action Plan (MPAP), Municipal International Water Association (IWA) Water Balance, Municipal Strategic Self-Assessment (MuSSA) data collection, and coordination.
