Technical Author/Writer needed at SYSPRO Corporate

Key Responsibilities

• Gathers information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff.
• Creates and maintains product capability guides, help and reference materials, as well as installation and configuration documentation for the SYSPRO Online Help sites.

Essential / Minimum Qualification

• Minimum: Senior Certificate or NQF4 equivalent

Essential Experience

• Beneficial: Experience working within a software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical writing environment
• Proven track record that reflects a passion for writing.
• Beneficial: Understanding of distribution, manufacturing, or finance industries
• Minimum 2 years of experience with ERP systems
• Beneficial: Relevant experience in software application roles such as support, implementation, or training
• Beneficial: Experience with CSS or graphic design
• Beneficial: Familiarity with single-sourced authoring and web-based design principles

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong writing skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content. 
• Excellent research capabilities and administrative skills. 
• Proficiency in layout, design, and formatting of technical documents. 
• Advanced knowledge of grammar, spelling, and the English language. 
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong time and priority management, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative as a self-starter.
• Good business acumen and the ability to work with various authoring software packages (e.g., HTML, Madcap Flare, XML, CSS).
