Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 or technical certificate.
  • Engineering diploma/certificate would be advantageous. (N3 or higher, B-Tech, Millwright)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Engineering/Manufacturing/Production/Water Industry.
  • Knowledge of the Fluid Control products (Bermad or similar hydraulic control Valves) essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Computer literate – prepare excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
  • The candidate must have a clear criminal record.
  • The role requires the candidate to be willing and able to sleep out for work assignments.
  • The candidate must be willing and able to work outside of normal working hours as required.
  • Experience and technical skills in valves, especially hydraulic control valves, will be a significant advantage.
  • The candidate must be able to read and understand technical drawings, as well as draw and create detailed sketches by hand, including measuring distances, rights, tolerances, etc.
  • A valid passport is required for travel to neighbouring countries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and effective technical support to customers on technical products specifically Bermad Hydraulic Control Valves.
  • Provide training to customers and end-users on the proper operation of Bermad Valves.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions, taking appropriate corrective measures.
  • Service, repair, and assemble Bermad Valves.
  • Conduct thorough testing of installed valves, verifying their proper operation and functionality.
  • Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Estimate the amount of material, equipment, and labour required for repairing valves on-site.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, including maintenance logs and service reports.
  • Submit all relevant documents once signed and the job is complete.
  • Effect changes to site jobs schedules to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancing installation procedures and service quality.
  • Identify and provide feedback on cost-saving initiatives within the area of control.
  • Ensure housekeeping and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) requirements are in place according to set standards.
