Cloud Engineer needed at Capitec Bank

About the role

• This role is integral to Capitec’s Group Cloud FinOps function, with a primary responsibility for optimizing and modernizing Capitec’s cloud environment through advanced engineering solutions.
• This role benefits from exposure to a wide range of cloud services and product teams, thereby enhancing the individual’s familiarity with diverse technologies and architectural patterns. • The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on AWS, with some involvement in Azure. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services, as well as proficiency in infrastructure. The Cloud Engineer will also be responsible for developing and managing SQL queries and Python scripts to support data operations and build dashboards. The Cloud Engineer will act as an advisor within the team, providing recommendations and support to other departments and stakeholders. This role demands a proactive, motivated individual with a passion for continuous learning and the ability to manage themselves effectively.

Our ideal candidate has

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
• AWS Certified Cloud Practioner
• Hashicorp Terraform Certified Associate
• Proficiency in most notable AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda-functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch and AWS QuickSights; and basic knowledge of Azure
• Relevant 3-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong background in DevOps practices
