FTC Server Support Specialist needed at PetroSA

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain physical and virtual server environments, including Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft Azure
• Monitor system performance, implement preventive measures, and resolve issues to ensure high availability and reliability
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades as needed
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and documentation of server infrastructure and processes
• Perform backup and recovery processes including testing using the tools and technology deployed in PetroSA to ensure business hardware & software availability
• Implement work practices relating to all aspects of server support and adhere to PetroSA’s IS policies, procedures to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of IS systems
• Provide timely and effective technical support to internal customers (Departments/Teams)
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding server-related issues, maintenance windows, and service updates

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree/NQF Lev 7 qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification or equivalent 

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years of experience in server administration and support, including virtualization technologies (VMware), Windows Server (2008 – 2022), monitoring tools, cloud services (Microsoft Azure), Microsoft 365, and enterprise storage systems
