Senior Lecturer / Lecturer – Durban needed at Durban University of Technology

Minimum requirements 

Senior Lecturer

• Doctorate in Food Science or Food Technology.
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience at a university level.
• Publications in DHET-accredited journals [minimum of three DHET-accredited publications over the preceding three years].
• Evidence of successful supervision of postgraduate students [minimum of one Master’s student].
• Recipient of grant awards.

Lecturer 

• Master’s degree in Food Science or Food Technology 
• Minimum of 3 years teaching / industrial experience 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Teach food science, legislation, and/or food microbiology modules at both undergraduates and postgraduate levels in the Food Science/ Biotechnology Programmes and to all faculties to which the Faculty of Applied Sciences renders service in undergraduate and honours level programs.
• Manage/ co-ordinate academic and research portfolios.
• Supervise undergraduate/ postgraduate students.
• Participate in community engagement projects.
• Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department.
