PURPOSE OF THE JOB

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide actionable insights to enhance customer targeting and segmentation strategies
  • Build predictive models to forecast customer behaviour and optimise marketing efforts
  • Advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics to inform strategic marketing decisions
  • Drive innovation by identifying new data sources and methodologies for improved customer understanding
  • Mentor and upskill data analysts to facilitate their transition into data science roles

Ad hoc Responsibilities

Requirements
ROLE  REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Operations Research
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data science, with an aptitude for predictive modelling and machine learning

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Python or R
  • Expertise in BigQuery SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace (Sheets) / MS Excel
  • A basic understanding of code repositories, git and CI/CD
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as GCP, Hadoop and Spark
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g.Tableau; Looker Studio, etc.).
  • Strong Mathematical ability

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to tackle ambiguous business problems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for exploring new data sources and methodologies.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and tools as needed.
  • Business Acumen
