KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the organization’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Lead recruitment efforts, including job posting, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding to attract and retain high-quality talent.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions while promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Training and Development: Oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career growth.
  • Performance Management: Develop and manage performance appraisal systems, feedback mechanisms, and goal-setting processes.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with labour laws.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including Occupational Health, Safety and Risk, equal opportunity, and anti-discrimination laws.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to maintain a fair and consistent work environment.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster employee engagement and satisfaction through surveys, feedback mechanisms, and initiatives. Model and promote the organization’s business Ethics and Values
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Maintain HR data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives and provide regular reports to management.
  • Budget Management: Manage the HR department budget effectively.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle employee disputes, grievances, and investigations with discretion and fairness.
  • Key Stakeholder Relationship Management: g. Canteen Providers, Unions etc.
  • Change Management: Assist in managing organizational change, transformation initiatives and benchmarking.
  • Legislation & Projects: Support and maintain legislated interventions for e.g. WSP/ATR, EE, BSCI etc. and support ad hoc projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in HR management (typically 5-10 years) preferably in the Manufacturing environment.
  • Proven knowledge of and application of all employment laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Optimal Industrial relations and union capability skills.
  • Union engagement and arbitration skills demonstrated by past achievements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, HR software & SAP.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
