Key Performance Areas:
Maintenance System Management
- Review and maintain asset register including guarantees & warrantees register.
- Keep the Critical Plant List up-to date.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance master plan for all equipment and facilities.
- Drive outage and shutdown planning activities.
Planning and Scheduling
- Prioritize weekly maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality, operational needs, and resource availability.
- Assessment of Engineering workload requirements, liaise with Engineering and Production stakeholders to ensure that maintenance plans are realistic, adequately resourced and plant downtime is appropriately and effectively planned.
- Align weekly plans with Divisional managers.
- Prepare for and coordinate weekly maintenance meetings.
Work Order Management
- Create and manage work orders for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks.
- Ensure work orders are detailed, including necessary materials, labour, and safety requirements.
- Track the progress of work orders and update statuses on the maintenance management system (On-Key)
Resource Coordination
- Collaborate with the Engineering Storeman to identify and procure necessary tools, parts, and materials for maintenance activities.
- Manage inventory levels for spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Stores Management
- Manage the engineering stores and storeman function.
- Coordinate weekly cycle counts and Bi-Annual stock takes of the engineering stores.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, service reports, and equipment history.
- Generate and analyse reports on maintenance performance, including schedule attainment, resource utilization and downtime.
Continuous Improvement
- Manage preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, which will include condition monitoring and other practices.
- Analyse machinery and component life cycles by identifying failure trends and making recommendations to improve maintenance strategies, practices, procedures, and systems.
- Implement best practices and innovations to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Maintenance / Maintenance Planner role
Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering
- Trade Test qualification – advantageous
