OVERVIEW

  • As the IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving all IT issues – whether hardware or software-related. You will also be providing feedback within the agreed upon times to the IT Helpdesk Operators, as well as both internal and external stakeholders alike.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Office, Desktop and Project support, where you will:

  • resolve incidents within specified SLA time and provide updated on incidents.
  • complete new starters/new hardware installations.
  • address all FLI with documented resolutions
  • ensure that server room is always kept neat and tidy and that all network equipment is online.
  • ensure all servers are labelled correctly.
  • conduct checks on employee’s laptops to ensure that they are working correctly.
  • complete support tier documentation and ensure that all support tiers have been trained on the relevant documentation within their tier.
  • ensure that store universes are updated by CLT.
  • attend to MDT2, effectively providing updates and ensure that tickets are logged.

Projects, where you will:

  • set up projects task step by step on JIRA.
  • complete allocated tasks allocated to BU KPI’s.
  • attend project planning sessions, retros and stand-ups and provide detailed feedback.
  • sufficiently document projects and ensure that it reviewed by the relevant support tier.
  • successfully test projects before rollouts and ensure that project timeframes are adhered to.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To be considered for this position, these are the skills we’re looking for:

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification essential
  • Technical qualification, A+, N+, MCSA
  • Cisco Fundamentals advantageous
  • Diploma in IT with LINUX + / LPIC and CCNA
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A valid driver’s license is required, with own reliable vehicle.

YOUR EXPERIENCE SHOULD INCLUDE

  • Minimum 1-year relevant experience in a similar role
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computers
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components in network systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Mac, Linux operating systems
  • Practical experience with internet and network security protocols
  • Troubleshooting Software and Hardware issues
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Testing new hardware and software before installation
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Organisational and interpersonal skills
