Requirements: 

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in the legal field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a legal environment which must include legislative and contract drafting.
  • Must be an admitted Attorney or Advocate.
  • Analytical and innovative thinking skills.
  • Good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Planning, organising and networking skills.
  • Computer skills in MS office.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience in board support in the public/health or social services/regulatory environment would be an added advantage.

Duties:

  •  Provide legal advice to management and the Board of the OHSC.
  • Draft, edit and amend contracts, service level agreements and memoranda of understanding in line with the OHSC policies and procedures.
  • Conduct legal analysis and research with regards to legal matters pertaining to the OHSC.
  • Manage litigation by and against the OHSC.
  • Assist the Board Secretary with legal secretarial work.
