Responsibilities

  • Monitor workload and assign work lists to users in the WMS.
  • Release tasks as per picking sequence provided by Third Party Transporter and the Key Acc Controller/Manager.
  • Monitor stock movement by staff to manage warehouse inventory record.
  • Monitor WMS dashboard to ensure compliance by staff.
  • Ensure that staff adheres to the WMS roles as per SOP.
  • Act as a support to the warehouse staff and ensure compliance with the warehouse procedures.
  • Monitor and publish reports for the warehouse staff.
  • Control the issuing of shipping documents to Third Party Transporter and warehouse staff.
  • Control and issue the RDT’s to staff as per the procedure.
  • Co-ordinate all staging loads to be demarcated and prepared to be ready for checking and loading.

Cost:

  • Manage Pallet control.
  • Ensure no outstanding pallets to be written off.
  • Manage overtime by proper planning.
  • Manage absenteeism.
  • Ensure limited use of contract labour (only where justified and approved by HR).
  • Manage all Warehouse assets.
  • Ensure no outstanding PODs (Proof of Delivery) or Credit Notes (CNs).
  • Deliver on Productivity Targets.

Service:

  • Ensure 95% Service Level (Fill rate).
  • Ensure 95% On time Delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of delays to pro-actively manage customers.
  • Track Cut cases % (cases cut from order versus original order processed) with loss tree analysis monthly.

Quality:

  • Manage stock rotation to ensure no write offs for expired/rotation stock.
  • Maintain IRA (Inventory Record Accuracy) of 95%.
  • Daily inventory health checks to be reported.
  • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene practices inside/outside facilities.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to Health, Safety and foodsafety procedures and regulations.
  • Manage and track all non conforming quality issues for escalation and resolution.

People:

  • Managing staff performance and take corrective action. 
  • Identify training needs for warehouse staff.
  • Manage contract labour (where justified) and ensure source documentation is validated on hours worked/overtime etc.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics or related would be preferable

  • People Management Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a FMCG
  • Distribution and warehouse environment
