What you’ll be doing

  • Design, deliver and maintain reporting and monitoring solutions across the entire regulatory space to ensure we are meeting regulatory requirements, including:
  • Know Your Customer (KYC)
  • Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), Sanctions and Adverse Media
  • Enhanced Due Diligence / Source of Wealth triggers and journeys
  • AML Risk Rating
  • Customer Welfare Interaction Programs
  • Developing and performing reviews based on regulatory and internal requirements including analysis of operational procedures and practices
  • Manage the collection, consolidation and governance of compliance data from multiple sources across multiple locations
  • Assist the Regulatory Compliance and Internal Audit teams by extracting data and answering ad-hoc requests for information from regulatory bodies or data for the filing of regulatory returns
  • Work closely with heads of department (AML, Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance, Licensing Operations, Customer Welfare, Betting Integrity) to define key operational metrics and provide regular analysis to help shape our strategies. The work here will be key to empowering the business to react to changes in legislation and support Betway as we expand into new regulated markets.
  • Work with Country Management and the wider Analytics & Insights teams to assess the commercial impact of regulatory initiatives in their markets, helping them to understand and better manage their risks, and ensure a positive customer experience
  • Work with the Data Science team to help them develop and train AI and machine learning models to mitigate risk to our business and customers

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities
  • Educated to degree level in a scientific or quantitative discipline or have at least 2 years work experience in a business intelligence, analytical or finance role.
  • Demonstrable SQL skills to efficiently query, manipulate and transform large data sets
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, data management and data quality assurance.
  • Experience working with data engineers and architects to define and design datasets
  • Experience with Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualisation tools
  • Experience using data to generate insights and demonstrate their value to influence business decisions
  • Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or other highly regulated industry
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
  • Understanding of AML principles (KYC, PEPs, Sanctions, Adverse Media)
  • Experience with Databricks, Spark, Hadoop or other big data technologies
  • Experience transforming or analysing data with Python or R
  • Enjoy experimenting with data (a ‘data junkie’)
