Job Description
Primary purpose:
- Responsible for the overseeing acquisition and retention of new customers within uConnect’s new retail mall channel. Focusing on successfully growing promoter teams and increasing client base to achieve and exceed the uConnect’s targets.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Sales and Marketing Strategy Development
- Work closely with relevant internal stakeholders, including marketing, to develop appropriate sales and marketing strategies for the retail mall channel.
- Define business plans and go-to-market strategy for the retail mall channel based on return-on-investment driven business models.
- Account Development and Management
- Develop account plans to successful manage the assigned channel, including customer landscape, financial information, and account goals.
- Implementation and monitoring of the agreed Retail Mall Recipe in identified malls, assessing opportunities to further grow and develop this channel.
- Ensuring customer education on the value proposition of our products and driving recharge, usage & customer returning to the Mall where the customer was acquired.
- Sales Operations Oversight
- Oversee daily sales operations, coordinating consistent workflows, plans, and reporting structures.
- Ensure volume, quality and rate of sale brought in by each promoter and the overall channel meet defined targets.
- Implementation and monitoring of the agreed Retail Mall Recipe.
- Team Management and Development
- Recruit and develop teams responsible for sales in the assigned channel.
- Training promoters to have a deep understanding of the products value proposition.
- Ensure promoters meet their predetermined sim activation volume, subscription sales and sales quality targets daily.
- Effectively manage staff rostering to ensure adequate coverage.
- Financial Management
- Managing channel Cost and Quality of Sale.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Reporting Results on a Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Basis
- The use & understanding of key metrics to determine the best possible decisions to grow sales volumes and quality of sales within the channel he/she leads.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building
- Collaborating with Group Business & Partner Business for Channel Optimization.
- Building Relationships with Management and Clients.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the product, marketing and finance teams.
- The ability to travel to and from Activation venues as & when required.
- Strong and professional communication skills – written, verbal, presentation.
- A strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables.
- Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic.
- High level of integrity.
- A deep understanding of system & platform implementation and the value of recipes
- A deep understanding and experience in direct sales and leading direct sales teams.
Education and training:
- National Senior Certificate or NQF 4 equivalent
Experience:
- Proven Mall activations, Direct sales &/or Promotions campaign success.
- Proven track record of leading and building a successful Activations, Promotions &/or Direct sales team within a Face-to-Face environment.
- A track record of delivery of sales volumes working through your team.
- At least 6 years’ work experience in direct sales (Face to Face sales, Mall Activations, In Store Promotions or similar).
- At least 3 years leading a direct sales team.
