Position Overview:

  • We are seeking a talented Electrical / Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineer to join our industrial electrical engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of backup power solutions (diesel generators, gas/biogas engines, thermal plant, rotary UPS, changeover systems), ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backup power solutions according to project specifications and customer requirements.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and performance of generator designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, grid code compliance, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform design reviews and provide technical support during the manufacturing and testing phases of generator development.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments, incorporating new technologies and best practices into generator designs.
  • Participate in product improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Professional registration preferred
  • 5 +years of experience in backup power design and development, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering consulting environment.
  • Diesel generator
  • Fuel storage, cleaning and distribution
  • Biogas Engines
  • Rotary UPS
  • Automatic changeover systems
  • Hazardous classification / HAZLOC experienced preferred
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine principles, components, and performance characteristics.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO, NRS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in additional languages is highly desirable, as this role involves working with diverse teams and stakeholders across multiple regions
