Job Description:

Your duties and functionality will include the following but not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive business development and sales strategy aligned with the company’s goals. This includes building a niche sales team, market research, competitive analysis, and planning.
  • Business Development
  • Drive the acquisition of new SME and mid-size corporate clients, focusing on growing the secured loan book. Expand business channels beyond digital and ATL through partnerships with networks, banks, and lending platforms.
  • Represent the company at industry events and develop strategic partnerships with affiliates and business partners.
  • Project & Risk Management
  • Oversee business development, sales, and marketing projects, ensuring timely execution, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Mitigate department risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • People & Financial Management
  • Provide strong leadership, mentor staff, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Manage the department’s financials, reporting, and external service providers, ensuring budget alignment and performance delivery.
  • Market Research
  • Marketing campaigns and Communication Initiatives

Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven ability to think strategically, with a strong talent for integrating business development and sales efforts.
  • Extensive experience in credit and lending, specifically within the SME sector.
  • Expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring asset-backed loan transactions.
  • Well-established network of SME and mid-corporate clients.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a sharp business acumen.

Qualification:

  • Degree in Business Management, Communication or relevant + 10 -15 years of experience
  • 5 years minimum in a Director/ Senior Management Role
