Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Providing strategic, intellectual and operational direction and oversight for the Quality Reviews sub-programme.
- Conceptualising, designing, developing, planning, and managing projects and activities within the portfolio, including the conceptualisation, design and effective implementation of Quality Reviews, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of outputs of highest quality.
- Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of planned projects and activities within the portfolio, and reporting the progress to relevant structures internally, and to external structures as appropriate.
- Establishing and maintaining relevant Communities of Practice to support the implementation of Quality Reviews.
- Liaising with stakeholders on Quality Reviews.
- Ensuring that the outcomes of Quality Reviews are effectively communicated and recorded on the Quality Assurance (QA) Dashboards of each institution.
- Enabling and participating in research, knowledge building and knowledge dissemination on Quality Reviews processes and the data that is generated through them.
- Developing and nurturing partnerships, including funding partnerships with relevant organisations to support the implementation of Quality Reviews Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), including through engaging and liaising with stakeholders in a manner that promotes and enhances the implementation of the QAF.
- Preparing budget bids for all projects and activities within the portfolio annually, following the budgeting guidelines, processes, and procedures of the organisation.
- Managing finances and assets allocated to the portfolio in accordance with the relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
- Managing human resources attached to the portfolio in accordance with the relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
- Actively participating in the processes of strategic and annual performance planning, and in the implementation of the strategic and annual performance plans of the organisation, as part of the CHE Management collective.
- Serving in internal management structures and contributing towards creating and maintaining an organisational climate that is conducive to operational excellence.
- Representing the CHE at relevant national and international forums.
- Performing other duties as would be assigned from time-to-time by the Chief Executive Officer and/or the Executive Director for Quality Assurance.
The successful candidate should have:
- Doctoral degree from a recognised higher education institution
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in higher education
- A minimum of 3 years in a senior position in higher education
- A minimum of 5 experience in teaching and learning and quality assurance in higher education
- Experience in developing and delivering capacity development programmes
