Key Performance Areas:

  • Hiking and guiding, leading groups on outdoor excursions, providing information on flora, fauna, and geography.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring safety, interpreting nature and enhancing participants outdoor experiences. Strong knowledge of local ecosystems, navigation skills, and first aid essential. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are crucial for fostering and enjoyable and educational hiking experience.
  • Handle all guest related queries including information on promotions, functions, events, and general questions about the Resort.
  • Assist in taking equipment and activity bookings.
  • Ensuring activity sales are at highest level and helping to achieve monthly budget.
  • Ensuring quality and service standards for water sport activities are always above 85% on survey success PI level.
  • Assist with promotions, functions, and events.
  • Ensuring guest and staff safety during activities and all safety documentation signed as per countries regulations.
  • Skippers guided scenic boat cruises.
  • Operate and run all water sport and beach activities like stand-up paddle board classes, pedal boat races, fishing lessons etc.
  • Strat plan new water sport activities and events
  • Child mind kids- love for children – facilitate and arrange kids and family water sport entertainment games and activities.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Matric or equivalent essential
  • FGASA Level 1 qualification with valid PDP essential
  • Strong verbal and written English skills including an additional South African language.
  • Experience in a public relation, guest services, resort/recreational, camp, or related field.
  • An extrovert who loves to display theatrics when dealing with Guests.
  • Ability to interact with a mixed audience of all ages and demographics.
  • Ability to speak on a microphone.
  • Strong creative writing skills
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • A hunger for knowledge of wildlife and conservation-related issues
  • Team driven, detailed, flexible and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Aptitude to construct and learn entertainment routines and scripts.
  • Exceptional improvisational skills

Person Requirements:

  • High energy levels  with a passion for working with the public & particularly children
  • Prepared to work outside of normal office hours which includes, public holidays and weekends
  • Work during high season periods
  • Work within a multi-cultural environment including multi genders
  • Flexibility & Patience

Qualifications:

  • Matric or Grade 12 (Compulsory)  
  • Child minding (Advantage)
  • Valid Driver”s Licence
