Key Responsibility Areas

  • Verifies all costs appearing on creditors invoices.
  • Maintains, updates and balances computerised Debt Collection Ledger to the Bad Debt Control Account.
  • Reconciles invoices to statements and investigates all dishonoured cheque payments and raises necessary charges.
  • Captures and cost out all authorised payment vouchers onto the JDE computerised system.
  • Reallocates all unmatched cash in respect of bad debts recovered.
  • Performs tests to programme enhancements and new programme changes.
  • Handles all computer related queries and programme problems.
  • Administers all invoices, statements, vouchers, costing transfers, correspondence, etc.
  • Administers debtor status changes, transfer of debts, reinstatement of debts, etc.
  • Co-ordinates and facilitates the use of Credit Bureau data facility by the Departments.
  • Responds to audit / Departmental queries and requests.
  • Prepares and submits statistics and audit working papers.
  • Allocates debtor files to debt collecting Agents and monitors collections.
  • Establishes that all delinquent debtors have been listed onto the default data facility.
  • Reconciles payments received from debt collectors.
  • Instructs the Legal Department to commence with legal action on arrear accounts. 

Essential Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent with Mathematics Core and/or Accounting and a certificate in the Financial field.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 3 Years relevant experience.
  • Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification (NQF Level 6) in Accounting or equivalent with Financial Accounting asa major subject.
  • 4 Years relevant experience.
