Minimum Qualification:

  • Degree in Communication/Marketing/Journalism or equivalent (NQF 7)

Minimum Experience:

  • 7 years post graduate experience in broad-spectrum in marketing, corporate communications, planning, stakeholder relations and media relations, 5 years at management level.

Key Outputs:

Reporting to the Manager Office of the Chief Executive, the employee will:

  • Develop, manage and execute integrated communications
  • Develop an integrated marketing and communications strategy for the organisation with appropriate plans, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate marketing and communication programmes across the organisation
  • Provide strategic support in all marketing and communication related matters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, government institutions and community groups
  • Develop stakeholder engagement techniques and best practices for building and maintaining relationships.
  • Ability to network extensively with political and business leaders
  • Develop the media relations strategy, policy and programmes
  • Develop, manage and execute effective media relations
  • Act as the spokesperson and key media liaison for Amatola Water
  • Facilitate development of appropriate responses to media enquiries
  • Develop, manage and coordinate the production of corporate publications
  • Conceptualise and lead the development, production, printing and distribution of internal and external publications, including print and electronic media – items such as Newsletters, the Integrated Annual Report and Business Plan
  • Identify appropriate and effective supplementary communication channels to maximise the dissemination of corporate communication
  • Develop, manage and coordinate the organisation’s public relations initiatives
  • Lead all public relations activities including community engagements and public awareness programmes.
  • Conceptualise and manage all Amatola Water internal events
  • Develop, manage and coordinate all Web and Social Media activities
  • Develop and manage the organisation’s web and social media activities and platforms, such as: Website, Intranet, Social media pages
  • Manage the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives
  • Manage financial resources
  • Maintain and improve motivation and performance of staff to achieve maximum productivity
