Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, or similar
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Reporting
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, SQL, and PowerQuery (M-code, DAX) are essential
- Experience with visualization software such as TIBCO Spotfire, PowerBI, or Tableau is advantageous
- Must be proficient in database design, connections, and optimization of engines
- Experience with data mining and statistical techniques, including Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, and Decision Trees is essential
- Experience with cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Google BigQuery, Azure) and tools for RPA, process mining, and production automation systems is advantageous
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Driving the strategy and implementation of Data-as-an-Asset (DaaA) in the RC Supply Mission.
- Working in the E2E Mission as part of the Advanced Technology squad for Commercial Seed Production.
- Operating in a Dynamic Shared Ownership culture, working cross-functionally with peers in SPI-PR, SPI-QT, Finance Controlling, Planning, and Foundation Seed, focusing on improving the Commercial Seed Production DaaA offering and intelligence.
- Acting as a Data Engineer in the field of Decision Science, creating the technical layer for extracting inferences, insights, and analytics, including ETL processes.
- Architecting a DataLake from various data sources and integrating it into Global systems and squads in this area.
- Consolidating, summarizing, and analyzing production data to drive critical processes such as Production Research data with area and field analysis, production plant comparisons to labs and research, and cost analysis of processes using data and KPIs automated from the DataLake.
- Performing data statistical analysis and visualizing data using data visualization tools.
- Building and validating dashboards with preferred visualization software.
- Mining process data from IT systems and databases.
- Extracting actionable insights from raw, structured, and unstructured data.
- Delivering on the future vision and strategy for optimized usage of data assets, including ML, AI, and outcome prediction.
- Ensuring compliance with the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Participating in compiling Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis and ensuring compliance.
- Actively recording safety observations and near misses.
- Participating in 5WHY problem-solving, identifying corrective and preventative actions.
- Adhering to all applicable legislation, safety policies, and procedures.
- Meeting the requirements of legal appointments.
- Actively promoting the company’s safety culture and best practices.
