KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop work plans and SOPs and submit to Company Secretary. Ensure that good record-keeping and records management practices are aligned to the broader information strategy and strategic plan. Develop and present the Records and Information Management annual budget and operations plan for incorporation into the departmental budget.
- Provide leadership and management in the Records and Information section through proactive planning. Manage and facilitate provision of information as in compliance with the PAIA legislation by processing of public information enquiries with the approval of the Company Secretary as the designated Information Officer.
- Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures to provide sustainable Knowledge Management services. Develop and implement control systems and processes necessary for the Records and Information Management sections’ success. Control expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives.
- Manage all other resources of the Records and Information Management section in a responsible and cost-effective manner. Facilitate the transfer of archival records into archival custody as soon as possible after creation as in compliance to the National Archives Legislation.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of electronic disposal procedures to ensure that a proper audit trail is generated during records disposal and transfer.(Review work space.)Develop and implement registry procedure manual and monitor its use as training manual, and facilitate its update and avail it to all staff members.
- Develop and present the report on the development and performance of the company library to the Managing Director and the Knowledge Management Forum (quarterly). Implement Knowledge Management in Johannesburg and Facilitate the establishment of Departmental Knowledge Champions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- B. Degree (NQF7) in Information Management/Information Science or a Knowledge Management related discipline.
- (5) years’ experience in Knowledge Management within a large organisation in either the public or private sector 03 years at Management level.
- Experience in designing and/or implementing Knowledge Management systems, but specifically Microsoft SharePoint.
- Thorough understanding of information communication and technology and the potential application to knowledge Management and knowledge sharing strategies.
